Cold Storage Kids Run Returns

The Cold Storage Kids Run is back for its second year running and is better than ever! This year’s Kids Run featured a longer route and a challenging obstacle course that promised an exciting day out for children and adults alike. Part of an initiative by Cold Storage Malaysia to promote Malaysians on the importance of living a healthy lifestyle, the 2018 edition of the Kids Run aims to promote healthy routines from a tender age. Indeed a fun time out for son and me though his eldest brother unable to join us because he has to go for last tuition for Chinese language.

Malaysia is one of the top four most overweight countries in Asia Pacific and the rapid rise of overweight children is alarming, as they are at a higher risk of becoming obese as adults and that could lead to many health complications.1 With the advancement of technology, most children and parents take for granted the importance of regular exercises and a balanced meal. Couple that with parents busy schedules, children tend to eat unhealthy food most of the time and do not get enough important nutrients that their body needs in order to grow. We need to be good example for our children, it's good to have outdoor activities from time to time. We have a fun time last year at Cold Storage Kids Run, this year is our 2nd year to take part. You can click it to read about it.

Cold Storage Malaysia is leading the conversation on promoting the importance of an active lifestyle as well as an adequate diet to the public, especially to the future leaders of our country. The Cold Storage Kids Run further emphasis our commitment in inspiring both children and adults, to make healthy food choices by providing a fine selection of fresh and high quality groceries in our stores. This event is part of our continuous effort in educating children on the importance of a balanced lifestyle since young as it could encourage them to start adopting to healthy habits in the future. This year they also bringing the cheer up to 40 MyKasih Foundation primary school students beneficiaries from Sekolah Kebangsaan Bukit Lanjan (Asli) joining the fun-run towards a healthier lifestyle. A total of RM40,000 from the Cold Storage Kids Run 2018 was channelled to MyKasih Foundation - a non-profit organisation that aims to help the less fortunate in Malaysia as part of Cold Storage Malaysia CSR effort.

Speaking at the event, Pierre-Olivier Deplanck, Managing Director of GCH Retail (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. said, “We wanted to create a fun activity that our customers and family can participate and at the same time the activity should consist of educational messages that is explained in an exciting manner. Once again, Cold Storage Malaysia is proud to call the Kids Run initiative as one of our best effort in promoting the importance of living a balanced and healthy lifestyle.”

Children today are smarter than we give them credit for. We believe that the duty of educating the children on living a healthy lifestyle falls on their parents. Therefore, by encouraging parents to also take part, the adults can lead by example and become a positive role model to their children when it comes to leading a healthy lifestyle.

MyKasih Foundation Chairman and Co-Founder, Tan Sri Dr Ngau Boon Keat, expressed his gratitude to Cold Storage for their generosity and continued support of MyKasih Foundation. “We are thankful to receive this RM 40,000 contribution which will go towards the MyKasih ‘Love My School’ student bursary programme to aid students from low-income households. The foundation currently supports 6,500 students in 101 schools, out of which, 30 are Orang Asli primary schools.”

In addition to providing the students with cashless bursaries, the programme includes supplementary activities such as tuition, annual sports days, edible garden projects and installation of computer labs for 21st century learning.

“We truly appreciate this gesture from Cold Storage and hope that other companies will come forward with their charitable giving to support the MyKasih ‘Love My School’ programme”, said Tan Sri Dr Ngau.

Through the Cold Storage Kids Run, we hope to make a change by partnering up with multiple brands that share the same vision as us.

“On behalf of Cold Storage Malaysia, we would like to extend our gratitude towards our event's main sponsors, Emborg, Pediasure, Korea Agro - Fisheries & Food Trade Corporation, Bestari, Darlie, Freedom, Goodday, Julies, Kewpie Malaysia, Kinder Joy, Milo, Prego, Bega, Sunquick, Tiger, PetitMiam, Anmum, O’ Fresh, Enfagrow, Facklemann, Garden Basket, Hot Wheels, KMT, Philips, Wyeth Nutrition Malaysia . We would also like to thank all our participants that joined us in making the Cold Storage Kids Run 2018 a huge success,” said Deplanck.

We stayed til the end for the lucky draw but we didn't win, there are attractive prizes to win and one of it is Legoland Themepark Hotel at Johor Bharu. We have a great time together, this year we get to experience the run in the mall, my son had a fall in mall but we manage to finish the run in time for the Fruity Run. If you are thinking of bonding time with children it's good to take part in family run together.

CARRIE JUNIOR designed 6 cute toy figurines called ‘Sukan Ria’

We have reached an age where technology is slowly overtaking human interaction and kids are drawn to it as well. Kids exposed to technology will tend to be more inclined towards leading a sedentary lifestyle as they stay glued to these gadgets. Kids naturally love to play and they should be encouraged to be active. Sports practices and games will provide the opportunity for exercise that can help kids to stay healthy and aid in their physical development.

Fun with water is also something that kids look forward to and what better way to have a good time playing with water than during bath time with bath toys. Although toys are seen as fun and games, it is definitely more than that. Toys can provide at least some opportunity for children to learn in all developmental areas. It provides opportunities for children to strengthen their physical skills, advance their social and emotional skills and enhance language development.

Setting out to bring splashing happiness to the children, CARRIE JUNIOR designed 6 cute toy figurines called ‘Sukan Ria’ to help develop their imaginative minds. As CARRIE JUNIOR defines the fun of bath time, it also encourages children to learn to embrace the positive value of social interaction as they play with the toys in creative and imaginative ways.

A total of 6 toy figurines which consists of CARRIE JUNIOR the elephant that loves football, SPEEDY TOMMY the fastest tortoise on the running tracks, TUFFY TEDDY the toughest bear, DRIBBLY MINKY the skilful raccoon in hockey, SMASHY MACKY the agile monkey that returns every shot and a sports trophy will each be randomly packed in every 700ml CARRIE JUNIOR product.
Similar to the previous packaging of CARRIE JUNIOR, the new toy collectibles will be hidden in a “secret chamber” which will house the “mystery” collectible toy figurine. The excitement of unravelling the “mystery” toy would encourage kids to explore, to stimulate their curiosity and offer them fun. With the introduction of the new CARRIE JUNIOR Sukan Ria toy collectibles, every bath session will be an adventure for the children as they unleash their imaginative minds.

The CARRIE JUNIOR & Buddies collectible figurines will be available with the 700ml pack for any variant of the CARRIE JUNIOR Baby Bath, CARRIE JUNIOR Baby Shampoo, CARRIE JUNIOR Baby Hair & Body Wash as well as the CARRIE JUNIOR Kids Shampoo.

Candy Walkathon @Main Place USJ

Good evening to everyone, happy to share with you that this morning is a good day and there's no rain. We have a good time at The Candy Walkathon at Main Place USJ.Sunday usually we are indoor and today it's different because we spend good time sweat it out at outdoor. We parked not far from the mall and the usual place we parked near DIM SUM are fully parked. We rounded three times there, we can see most participants parking nearby the mall to go for the healthy walk together. Some participants prefer to run, some participants prefer to walk. Well we would prefer to walk as we are not on Marathon and jogging will be nice too.

good time with my boys, photo credit my dear for snap

Thanks to my dear that willing to accompany us for the walk, he says he had knee pain but it didn't stop him for healthy walking together. You can view some photos taken using my phone, watch the video above. Many family and their friends have a good time at the walkathon, yeah kids would be a bit cranky and asking when over. I am happy that sons walk together and Sean holding his little brother hand.

After the walk, it was a long queue to take the medal and I was holding little one so I am not able to show you how crowded and long queue it was. It was early morning before 9am. The queue for metal takes longer than last year, but we have Teh Tarik panas (hot) while queue. There's queue for taking photo with Mandy and cute decoration on stage that we didn't queue up to take a photo.

It's a day well spend with family then we headed another restaurant in USJ, Subang Jaya for breakfast and then head home. After that out again for morning market (pasar) to shop for groceries. Not just a metal we get but also banana, view the video and you'll see.

A Memorable Birthday With A Better Florist

Being a mom is a tough job, but it’s also so rewarding and fulfilling that it makes all the hard work worth it. There’s no greater joy than to feel loved and appreciated by my children. Something as simple as a hug or a kiss when I’m sick gives me the strength and resolve to get well soon for them. They’d also surprise me with little gifts, like a card and a fruit basket on Mother’s Day or a birthday bouquet of flowers from the best florist in Singapore–A Better Florist.

That bouquet made my birthday so much more memorable and immediately put a smile on my face. So if you’re wondering how to make your mom or a loved one happy on their special day, I suggest you try A Better Florist’s flower delivery in Singapore. It’s fast, affordable and quite beautifully arranged as well!

Ever since I received a bouquet from them, I have become an instant fan of A Better Florist. I like the fact that they have a small yet flexible selection of bouquets, so each one is actually suitable for various occasions. For example, The Madelene composed of sunflowers, daisies, rosemary and pink roses has a rustic appeal that can be perfect for Mother’s Day. The flowers are delivered with a glass vase so you can easily display it on your living room or dining area. I can also imagine giving this as a gift to a friend on their birthday or just to perk up your significant other after a hard day’s work.

A Better Florist to me is one of the best florist in Singapore because of their simple and straightforward approach to selling flowers. Ordering from their online shop is so simple and easy. After checkout and confirmation of payment, the flowers are delivered free of charge and arrive within a few hours after purchase. They even have a 90-minute guaranteed delivery to any Singapore location, making them the fastest and best flower delivery in Singapore.

Of course, it’s not just me singing them praises. A number of bloggers and sites have likewise praised A Better Florist’s flower delivery in Singapore. And because of their success and growing customer base in Singapore, they have recently expanded their operations to include Hong Kong flower delivery and Dubai flower delivery. This early, A Better Florist has already caught the eye of flower enthusiasts in their new locations, making it to the list of best flower delivery in Hong Kongbest florist in Hong Kong and best florist in Abu Dhabi and Dubai.
