It's month of March, and last month 23 February 2019 was KidZania Kuala Lumpur 7th Anniversary.

We have a nice family fun time here, just nice as Sean's has accummulated 61 stamps so he can change his KidZanian passport to another level.

KidZania Kuala Lumpur is popping a bubbly celebration, marking its 7th year in existence as the ultimate edutainment centre in Malaysia.

A month-long celebration, the award-winning indoor family edutainment centre celebrates its 7th anniversary with all the crowding of children and parents in an event filled with bubbly and joyful festivities.

Through the bubbly celebration, KidZania Kuala Lumpur aims to educate children with values that could be attained through creativity that includes self-expressing through bubbles, as well as the dedication and attentiveness to make beautiful and big bubbles!

The Mayor of KidZania Kuala Lumpur, Shahrul Nizar Ahmad joined in to launch the event by cutting a cake that had the number “7” placed on top of it, marking the anniversary celebration.

“It has been seven wonderful years since we have launched KidZania Kuala Lumpur, and since then, we have catered to happy adult and kid visitors.

“By introducing new activities from time-to-time to give our young visitors more edutainment experiences and exposures to real-life professions, we remain, till this year, a continued favourite spot for kids and parents for an educationally fun experience,” said Shahrul Nizar Ahmad, Mayor of KidZania Kuala Lumpur.

Apart from the “Bubbly” themed role-playing activities, special performances and games for the visitors, members of the B.KidZanian loyalty programme called “CitiZens” could stand a chance to win some premium goods from KidZania Kuala Lumpur’s industrial partners too.

Partners like Vitagen, F&N, Mission Foods and Emborg have all joined in the celebration to offer CitiZens premium goods when they have completed exciting challenges and take a turn at the ”Wheel of Fortune”.

Another partner showing its support is the freshly joined, Faber-Castell through a colouring contest for all the visitors of KidZania Kuala Lumpur.

KidZania Kuala Lumpur has been welcoming visitors since 2012, with the aim to combine education and entertainment, enabling children to experience “grown-up jobs”, reflecting “Learn Life Today” in kids visiting the City.

KidZania Kuala Lumpur collaborates with international companies who act as sponsors for its pavilions and work activities.

Complete with shops, vehicles and other infrastructures, just like a mini-city specially made for kids, KidZania Kuala Lumpur is built for kids to experience life in a fun and educating way.

The edutainment facility also enhances basic concepts of financial literacy and contributes to children’s fundamental understanding of earning money for work and spending it depending on the income level.

Raising resilient kids - role play helps

Everyone has got a busy lifestyle, we need to find time to balance our life and find bonding time with our children. Do you ever feel that sometimes our kids experience disappointment, frustration and failure? You are not alone, kids also experience criticism and disapproval; and/or exclusion/bullying by peers.

As parent we need to be there for our children, childhood is important stage of growing up. My sons would be frustrated at times if they didn't achieve in the result they wanted for example examination that they had.

Having healthy lifestyle is important don't just sit at home, bring them out for the park or playground.

Nowadays kids have many to learn and studies, tuition and other activities if there's any. My kids would be frustrated if they are constantly studies and attending to tuition. That's why we need to have balance in lifestyle, giving our moral support and bonding with them.

My son Sean would be shy on stage and lack of self confidence, looking at the video my son didn't feel shy at all because there's KidZania staff that guided him. He overcome his fear and feeling nervous of standing on stage by believing himself that he can do it, also attended a few classes of Kids Public Speaking during his school holidays. That's not all, he says sometimes he still having fear when standing on stage, but he has overcome it slowly by gaining self confidence. Sean says that he got to be good model for his little brother who is 5 years younger than him. He's turning 13 years old next month, being Form 1 student he's also active in school's activities namely being a Police Cadet, Japanese Language Learning Class and Basketball player. He didn't feel shy to speak up too, as he can communicate easily with his classmate with varies language Mandarin, English and Malay.

There are many good opportunity to learn and have fun at KidZania where they can have the fun experienced of learning together at the same time. I like to bring my kids to KidZania because this is an interactive learning edutainment theme park for kids that helps prepare them for the real world by immersing them in simulated adult occupations and real-life situations; it's role-play activities and (variable) programme are aimed to help kids "know, create, care, share and play", which support a child's social-emotional resilience.

It's fun Disney And The Roadster Racers Super-Charge, first just select the character that you find on tables yeah they're many choices but my sons prefer the Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck. Be creative and you can color it with the crayon that are available there. Then there's a machine that you can place the colored character, my kids didn't know how as we are first time here. No worry as the staff are friendly and they assist them. Stay put at the big screen area as you can find your creation and yes you see it comes alive! Kids have good creative imagination on how they want their racer car to be colored. Do not draw outside the frame, do it slow it you want as it's good to give them learn be patience in coloring.

Do you want to take a guess who chosen the Donald Duck and Mickey Mouse?

Both sons' creation as they even put their signature on it. It's pretty awesome I like the turnout of it.

THE FUTURE OF TECHNOLOGY @ KIDZANIA KIDZ & TECH 3.0!

Everyone has got their busy lifestyle, even children as they have got to studies joining extra activities and even tuition. Children today are more attuned to technology than ever before, but there’s more to it than just smartphones, games and movies! From 18 August - 16 September, KidZania Kuala Lumpur brings the future of technology to life with KidZ & Tech 3.0, a month-long programme that allows kids to interact with tools and programmes that utilise Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Robotics, which will greatly influence the way people play, learn and work in the years to come.

Thanks to KidZania Kuala Lumpur for inviting media blogger for attending the KidZania 'KidZ & Tech 3.0' Race! We get the chance to hands on learning and playing at the same time. Each person in the team is given a card which has 4 stamps on it, we need to complete it as fast as possible and we cannot do the same task as we have got the puzzle of frame to get. If we are doing the same task we might getting the same puzzle. This hands on experienced give me a the chance to know more about the KidZ & Tech 3.0, so next time my children are here in KidZania I will know what they have experienced.

Group pic with team A, B,C and D on stage.

“Technology runs the modern world, and this will become even more prevalent as artificial intelligence- and robotics-based careers and industries become commonplace. As a parent, I’m motivated to ensure that my children are educated and prepared for a future where different forms of technology are seamlessly woven into the fabric of daily life. Virtual and robotic assistants, smart homes and self-driving cars already exist and there is so much more to come. Living and working with technology is inevitable and I hope that children experiencing KidZ & Tech 3.0 will be inspired by the infinite possibilities it brings,” said Shahrul Nizar Ahmad, Mayor of KidZania Kuala Lumpur.

KidZ & Tech 3.0 gives children more opportunities to ‘Learn Life Today’ and one of the fastest-growing areas is AI. Google Malaysia puts it to use by taking kids on an entertaining Emoji Scavenger Hunt that the whole family can enjoy! Using experimental neural network AI to recognize real world objects, players are given an emoji which they must then find in the real world; each step of the hunt is completed when a picture is automatically snapped that corresponds to the prompted emoji. The game confirms it’s a match before they are given the next clue.

“At Google we're big on AI and making things smart, and the key to that is machine learning — teaching computers to recognize patterns by looking at many examples, rather than programming it with specific rules,” said Zeffri Yusof, Head of Communications and Public Affairs, Google Malaysia. "Google uses machine learning for tasks like language understanding, translation, speech recognition, computer vision, ranking and recommendations at scale, and we hope experiencing this will make children more interested and curious about AI."

Team C has won the race for the day.

For more hands-on fun, Makeblock invites kids to build a robot of their own using mBots, a do-it-yourself kit that includes simple coding to create a personalised robotic friend. Kids can also test their piloting skills in the exciting Drone Obstacle Challenge, using Airblocks, a magnetically-assembled, programmable flying robot to navigate a customised aerial course!

Overall, KidZ & Tech 3.0 features activities across five areas: AI-inspired Emoji Scavenger Hunt activity, Virtual & Augmented Reality (VR games, Be Internet Awesome game, DIY AR Greeting Cards), Coding & Robotics, Forensic Science (UKM Forensics, which gives kids a look at crime scene investigation with its Fingerprint Dusting and UV Light Experiment), and Creative Photography (Canon Light Tail Photography, U Mobile Clone Photography).
